人工

réngōng - manual work, artificial

I was attempting to read an article from BBC Chinese site, which proved to be a good test of the vocab I've been learning on the Smart.fm Media course. I came across an excellent article about a drunk man in the US who had tried to administer mouth-to-mouth to dead opossum. The word for mouth-to-mouth is 人工呼吸 - literally man-powered breathing. Apparently, 人工 is a quite a common word, and it is very simple; it's only five strokes in total.
